Beef in the YouTube Black Manosphere

I was writing a long post about the YouTube Black Manosphere.  I think there are some interesting and exciting things going on.

But I just deleted the bulk of it, because I’m realizing something many of you guys already know – guy only spaces are like girl only spaces – a lot of beef, name calling, sneak dissing, gossip etc.

So even though I think all of us do watch some of these Youtube celebs from time to time, catch some nuggets of wisdom – if you’re like me, it’s a lot of stuff to wade through to get to the jewels.

So the latest bit of beef is this.

The Saint and The Sinner (book review coming as soon as I finish reading it) – as background, I believe the brother is from Cali.  Has a pimping background, but also went to great schools and has run tech companies.  I’ll take the man at his word about his bonafides and I judge his content more than his resume.  Overall, I like his content.  I disagree here and there, but I never expect to agree with someone 100%, nor do I expect someone to agree with me.

The Spark

Saint is at the Copacabana Beach in Rio and is not impressed by the quality of women there.

Okay, although I can see a nice one in the thumbnail, my time in Brazil showed me that the whole country doesn’t look like a Rap Video.  The idea that a place is not crawling with 8’s, 9’s, and 10’s should not be surprising to anyone.  In fact, rampant obesity should not be a shocker either, it’s world wide. When you fat people in Saigon, that should tell you something.  But the USA takes the cake in the fat-Olympics in my opinion.

His comment section agrees with him.  It was a one off video for laughs.

But that’s not how this will play out.

So my man 1 Master Teacher, a Brazil veteran, is disagreeing with Saint.

Okay, if you’ve seen 1MT’s work around the globe, he’s a true passport player.

Again, it’s not secret that a Black man handling his business, can network before he goes and connect with some nice locals, and sometimes just parachute into a country and make it happen.  Young dude, in decent shape, got money to spend?  A brother does not need to resort to pay for play.  Tinder dates via Google Translate is the norm. A lot of people do not want Black men to realize that as a brand, we are a pretty attractive lot.  Women, the world over, like us as a group for romantic and physical activities.

If paying $20 bucks for a 3 course dinner in Fortaleza is “simping” to a lot of dudes – we just aren’t in the same tax bracket.  I regularly go on dinner dates with women.  I don’t see that as tricking.  A lot of guys do. *shrugs*

That said, the disagreement here is about the content, not about the person.

Two brothers can disagree.  The disagreement can be heated, but at the end of the day, we can agree to disagree.

But 1MT wasn’t the only reaction.

Enter Oshay Duke Jackson. 

Him and my man Obsidian are basically the backbone of the Black Youtube Manosphere.  They took it upon themselves to somewhat organize what’s generally considered a crazy realm.

    • Black PUAs – who are largely not integrated with the sphere…but could be

I’m not trying to link all these guys to Oshay, but he’s featured a good number of them, and is featured with a lot of them.  He will showcase people he doesn’t agree with and have a discussion.  And those folks get followers from his base.  Cross-pollination helps everyone in the space, as the rest of Youtube figured out a decade ago.

That said, Oshay definitely is not above a bit of roasting.  I’ve definitely had my fair share of chuckles and headshakes at his material.

Note the title of the video is to take advantage of the Youtube Algorithm, as Saint Kevin Samuels is really preaching the gospel to Black Women, 3 nights a week, with clips from different platforms. The most professional YouTuber in the space.

So Saint is talking about Brazilian chicks not being all that.  Fair enough.  We can agree to disagree.

But who’s shooting the video?

Oshay shows hidden camera footage of Saint’s assistant and has some commentary about her. Let’s just say this was not very kind on Oshay’s part.

I’m unclear about who the young lady is, what their relationship is, and I’m not trying to find out.  That’s not my business.

But *shots fired*.

Saint does some internet research and presents that to his audience.  Saint is out for blood.  Needless to say, when government names come up, the conflict has escalated.  I won’t repeat said allegations, you can watch the video or read the comment section like I tend to do.

While all of this is happening, Pro-Oshay followers and Pro-Saint Followers are clashing in these internet streets.

So what’s the lesson here?

The Black Man Youtube-Sphere is still gelling.  There are new and veteran content creators all vying for eyeballs.  And in that race for dollars….

Dollars?

 

99 Real dollars are being spent in the Chat. (twice) (And the dude putting up them dollars, DOESN’T LIKE OSHAY).  He’s getting haters to pay him 200 bucks.

That’s what is at stake here.
